The giant 18-wheeler, which looked a bit like a misshapen hot dog, was heavily armed, virtually impregnable, and equipped with such niceties as a cab that converted into a helicopter. Piloting this monster rig along the highways of America was a muscular, leather-clad crime fighter called only The Highwayman, one of a team of special federal marshals empowered to right wrongs "where ordinary laws do not reach" and to haul sensitive government cargo.
