A stylish, yet violent, crime drama set in the 1950s. Jack Cleary was a moody, scruffy ex-cop, wrongfully busted from the Los Angeles police force, who inherited his brother's detective agency upon the latter's demise. Although he was later cleared and offered his badge back, Jack declined, preferring the fast life of a private eye. Johnny Betts was a greasy-haired, leather-jacketed rock 'n' roller who helped out with such necessities of the trade as hot-wiring cars and squealing on the younger generation.
